I am a highly experienced, Social Work England–registered social care expert specialising in brain injury and complex case management within health, social care, and medico-legal settings. I support individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injuries and other complex neurological conditions, delivering expert assessment, case management input, and strategic social care advice across rehabilitation, community, and litigation contexts.
As part of my case management role, I work collaboratively with clients, families, case managers, deputies, solicitors, insurers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex packages of care and support. This includes identifying appropriate care pathways, sourcing and reviewing care providers, advising on rehabilitation and support options, and ensuring that care arrangements are safe, proportionate, and responsive to changing needs.
I have extensive experience undertaking detailed care and support needs assessments, mental capacity assessments, and best interests decision-making where cognitive impairment, executive dysfunction, or fluctuating capacity impacts an individual’s ability to make informed decisions. My assessments are grounded in the Mental Capacity Act and relevant case law and are suitable for use within court proceedings, deputyship matters, and personal injury or clinical negligence claims.
My case management experience includes managing complex risk, safeguarding concerns, behavioural challenges, vulnerability, self-neglect, and family conflict, often in high-risk or emotionally charged situations. I provide clear analysis and practical solutions, balancing autonomy and risk while ensuring safeguarding duties are met and the individual’s rights remain central to all decision-making.
I regularly contribute to long-term planning and rehabilitation pathways, including advising on accommodation, staffing models, funding arrangements, and transitions between services. I also provide oversight and quality assurance of care packages, reviewing care plans, incident management, and provider performance to ensure care delivery aligns with best practice, contractual expectations, and regulatory standards.
In addition, I provide expert social care advice to inform litigation strategy, care costings, and future planning, producing structured, evidence-based reports that clearly articulate care needs, risks, and recommendations. My approach to case management is proactive, collaborative, and outcomes-focused, with an emphasis on clarity, defensibility, and achieving sustainable, person-centred solutions for individuals with complex needs.
